Sis. Camellia W. Hairston, departed her life on October 13, 2009 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville, VA.
She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 9, 1917, to the late Johnny and Ida Hodge Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ivory Lee Hairston, her son, Charles E. Hairston, her adopted daughter, Marlene K. Hairston, twelve brothers and sisters, James Watkins, Benjamin Watkins, John L. Watkins, McKinley Watkins, Dave Watkins, Alice Martin, Emma Martin, Lucille Bundy, Elizabeth Davis, Louisia Watkins, Lillian Watkins and Estelle Fuller.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Ida B. Hairston, Diane Hairston, and Mildred Price, all of Axton, VA; and Leocia Price, of State College, PA; 50 grandchildren over 150 great and great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Refuge Temple Ministries in Martinsville, VA with Elder Alan Preston, officiating. Burial will follow in the Watkins Family Cemetery in Axton, VA.
