Edward "June" Penn, Jr., was called home on Sunday, November 1, 2009.  He was born June 12, 1938 to the late Edward Penn, Sr., and the late Eliza Martin Penn in Henry County.

He was educated in the Roanoke City Public School System and was retired from Ridgeway Clock.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Mae Penn Garnes.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Joyce Ann Penn, of the home; three daughters, Valerie (Billy) Penn, of Ridgeway, VA; Rita Penn, of Ridgeway, VA; and Revonda (Alonza) Hairston, of Martinsville, VA; one son, Carlos (Zenobia) Penn, of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Michael (Annette) Penn, of Martinsville, VA; 9 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He also leaves behind special friends, Tyrone (Sunday Cook) Hairston, Teresa Hayden and Charles (Grocery Man) Hayden.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church with Elder Ronald Hairston, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
