Fulton Roy Green, Sr., at age 94 was called to his eternal rest on March 22, 2010.  He was born December 11, 1915, to the late Creed and Gracie Dudley Green.  Fulton was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and the the Pigg River Baptist Association.  Fulton was active in community organizations as well.  He was a member of the Twin Rock Ruritan Club and Gibraltar Lodge and a member of the Big Brothers of Martinsville and Henry County.

Fulton was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Green, step-mother, Mattie Green, seven brothers, Posey, Clinton, Obrie, Willie, Roosevelt, Junior, and Jeremiah Green and two sister, Angie Starkey and Estelle Neamon.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Cleveland (Sheva) Green, of Martinsville, VA and Fulton (Linda) Green, of Fieldale, VA; one daughter, Mary (Eugene) Martin, of Fieldale, VA; three brothers, Lee Green and Mack Green, both of Pittsburgh, PA; and Olden Green, of Roanoke, VA; one sister, Mary Starkey, of Wirtz, VA; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Fulton was a loving husband and devoted father.  He instilled in his children character, strength, loyalty and love.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Harmon, giving the eulogy.  Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.
