Mr. Gene Maurice Foster, Sr., 54, of 206 Fourth Street, Martinsville, Virginia departed this life on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born May 30 1955 in Martinsville, VA the son of the late Robert and Lillian Foster.
He was disabled from Nationwide Homes, in Martinsville, VA. Gene was a member of St. Paul High Street Baptist Church, where he sang in the Senior Choir, Men's Choir and the Inspirational Choir where he served as Chaplain.
Those lfet to cherish his memory, include his wife: Gloria Gravely Foster, of the home; one son, Gene M. Foster, Jr., of Temple Hills, MD; two daughters, Joannie and Tiffany Gravely, both of Martinsville, VA; two sisters, Veronica Musgrove and Linda Herford, both of Martinsville, VA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2009 at St. Paul High Street Baptist Church, with Rev. William A. Shackleford, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.
