Harry Clay Hodge, Jr., departed this godly earth in a quiet and sweet holy spirit on August 18, 2010 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
He was born May 8, 1950 in Henry County to the late Harry and Elizabeth Witcher Hodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Kittie Custis and one brother, Ervin Hodge.
Harry worked at Georgia-Pacific for 40 years. He was a active and dedicated member of Evangel Temple United Holy Church. He found himself working in any area the church needed assistance. He was one with a radiant personality, distinguised character and shared all his wisdom with whomever needed it.
He leaves to cherish his eternal memories: a loving wife of 40 years, Frances "Bunch" Hodge, of the home; one son Harry Galvin (Tracy) Hodge, of Richmond, VA; four sisters, Geneva Stockton, of Martinsville, VA; Lily Belcher, of Cascade, VA; Rosa Hayes, of Reidsville, NC; and Mary Hodge, of Greensboro, NC; three brothers, Larry and Jesse Hodge, both of Martinsville, VA; and Dennis Hodge, of Big Stone Gap, VA; one grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Catherine (Charles) Jones and Brenda Brooks, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Elder Thomas R. Brooks, officiating. Burial will be Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA,
