Lewis "L. J." Jovon Rumley, Jr., 3, of Roanoke, VA went home to be with God on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  L. J. was born in Roanoke on February 14, 2007.  He is survived by his mother, Chantel Weeks, his father, Lewis J. Rumley, Sr., both of Roanoke, VA; his sister, Shiane Weeks, of Roanoke, VA; He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, James Rumley, Sr., of Spencer, VA; his paternal grandmother, Alice H. Rumley, of Fieldale, VA; his paternal step-grandmother, Joi Rumley, of Spencer, VA; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Melinda Gorig, of Roanoke, VA; paternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Doretha Wade, of Fieldale, VA; and paternal great-grandmother, Phyllis Holland, of Fieldale, VA; uncles, James (Jennifer) Rumley, Jr., Brandon (Melissa) Rumley, Bo Weeks, Corey (Heidi) Rumley, Terry Preston, and Charles Buck; aunts, Jamica (Jeffrey) Joyce, Jennifer Gorig, Rachel Price, and Donna (Leander) Craighead and his best friend, Mason Ashworth, as well as many cousins and friends.  L. J. was the pride and joy of his momma and daddy.  He always brought a smile to your face even during bad times.  He knew just the things to say and do to bring joy into your life.  He loved everyone and never met a stranger.  He loved asking questions, even if he knew the answer, he'd still asked why.  He loved to do everything his daddy did and be everywhere his daddy went.  There is only one way to describe L. J. and that is an Angel sent from heaven.  WE LOVE YOU and MISS YOU.  We will see you soon baby.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Mable Finney, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holland Family Cemetery in Fieldale, VA.
