Melvin "Flat" Durham, 52, of 218 Starling Avenue Martinsville, VA changed his place of residence on Friday, May 14, 2010 in Salem, VA. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Calvin Durham, Sr., and the late Margaret Foster Durham on July 5, 1957.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He was united in marraige to Marina Hodge and to this union they had one son, Markey and one daughter, Montavia.
He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Holiness Church in Madison, NC where he accepted the Lord as his Saviour. Melvin was a caring and loving man that could always put a smile on someone's face.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1976. He was employed at Springs Industry until his declining health.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin "June" Durham, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Marina, one son and daughter, Markey and Montavia; one brother, Elder Sylvester (Stella) Durham and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Hines Funeral Services, Inc.
