Rev. Dr. Samuel Lynwood Easley, 62, of 68 Easley Drive, Bassett, Virginia died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Golden Living Center, in Martinsville, VA.  He was born May 12, 1947 in Martinsville, VA the son of the late Sam Lee Easley and the late Savannah Hairston Easley.

He was a member and retired pastor of 25 years of Greater Mt. Parrish Missionary Baptist Church.  He was the moderator of the Cherrystone Baptist Church Association.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda W. Easley, of the home; one daughter, Laryssa E. Toomer, of Fayetteville, NC; one son, Neil Easley, of Collinsville, VA; three sisters, Vera Thornton, and Katherine Hairston, both of Bassett, VA; and Mary I. Brown, of Chesapeake, VA; one brother McArthur Easley, of Bassett, VA and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Greater International Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Terry Hairston, officiating.  Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens in Martinsville, VA.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at other times.
