Mrs. Victoria Elizabeth Pulliam, 74, of 305 Fellowship Drive, Martinsville, VA departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2009 at her home. She was born in Brunswick County, VA on May 26, 1935 a daughter of the late James and Florence Meredith Moore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Floyd and Stephen Murphy.
Victoria was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Pastor's Aide, Finance Committee, Sanctuary Choir, Gospel Choir and Pastor's Helping Hand. She was also a member of the Carver Ruritan Club and Household of Ruth #6933
She was retired from American of Martinsville where she was employed for 35 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband, Willie A. (Bill) Pulliam, of the home; one daughter, Florence Moyer, of Martinsville, VA; three sons, Melvin S. Murphy, of Virginia Beach, VA; James M. Murphy, of Martinsville, VA; and Ricky R. Murphy, of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Blanche Moore, of New York, NY; and Delilah Jackson, of Ft. Washington, MD; one brother, James R. Moore, of Robertsonville, NC; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Axton, VA with Dr. Green Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.
